took advantage of a drop in the weights with combination of blinkers/tongue strap refitted, the marathon distance suiting him; never far away, travelled better than usual, led between last 2, stayed on strongly; he's not sure to be in the same form next time.

A useful staying handicap won by one that had slipped in the weights and who also had race fitness on his side over the next 3 home; having said that, it wasn't such a searching test as most races over this sort of marathon trip because the pace was on the steady side until the final circuit.

BUACHAILL ALAINN (IRE) took advantage of a drop in the weights with combination of blinkers/tongue strap refitted, the marathon distance suiting him; never far away, travelled better than usual, led between last 2, stayed on strongly; he's not sure to be in the same form next time.

JAC THE LEGEND ran well after 7 months off and left the impression that he might sharpen up for it too; mid-division, travelled well, tracked pace 4 out, went second last, no extra.

JENNYS SURPRISE (IRE) didn't get home over 5f longer trip, admittedly after 6 months off as well, and shaped better than the distance beaten suggests; raced off the pace, went in snatches, in touch thirteenth, chased leaders seventeenth, every chance 2 out, tied up approaching last.
