benefited from the 2f longer trip and showed further improvement to follow up maiden win on handicap debut, progressing well now; mid-division, met some trouble over 2f out, headway under pressure over 1f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, ridden out; may do better still.

looked on a stiff opening mark but produced best effort to date to be competitive, albeit seen to maximum effect; dictated, shaken up over 2f out, headed well inside final 1f, kept on, had the run of the race; the slightly longer trip than he'd gone over before was no problem.

ran up to best maiden form back in this sphere and left the impression that he should have finished slightly closer on the day; mid-division, shuffled back 4f out, keeping on when not clear run 2f out, ran on; this proves that stays this far, at least when the emphasis is on speed.

has work to do from present mark, 6 lb higher than when winning a weak race at Nottingham, but enouragement can be taken from the fact he ran creditably even though dropped back in trip on firmish ground; prominent, challenged 3f out, every chance over 1f out, one paced; will benefit from a return to 1¾m.

again ran creditably over this 2f longer trip but it's not conclusive evidence that he stays given that this was a modestly-run affair, and he never actually got on terms, one paced after switched wide for a run 2f out.

probably didn't get home over 2f longer trip, even in steadily-run race, but is yet to fire fully this season, anyway; chased leaders, short of room around 2f out, faded final 1f.

who'd shaped well last time, clearly wasn't 100% this day; held up, progress 4f out, stopped quickly, eased off.

A rather muddling, modestly-run affair in which they failed to get strung out and it's not form to be rating too highly, though the right horse won, Kinshasa likely to have shown himself more superior if they'd gone a stronger gallop.
