A modestly-run renewal of this borderline useful handicap, contributing to the bunched finish but also masking the superiority of the thriving Cote d'Azur, who travelled best and scored with a good bit in hand.

COTE D'AZUR picked up precisely where he left off for Sir Mark Prescott Bt, evidently thriving on racing as he completed the four-timer but that doesn't paint the full picture, his authority masked by the run of the race; prominent, tanked along, led over 1f out, asserted final 1f, just pushed out to score very readily; he'll be forced into top end handicaps now but he possesses the tools to excel and will remain of plenty of interest, particularly with further progress still on the cards.

CAPE OF GLORY (IRE) without the headgear this time, ran well on first outing since leaving James Tate, at least as good as ever in fact; led, headed over 1f out, kept on but no match for winner; had the run of the race, but new yard are adept at squeezing a bit extra out of similar types.

FINAL back up in trip, ran up to best, despite leaving the impression that he'd have benefited from a stronger gallop; raced off the pace, chased leaders over 2f out, kept on final 1f; he's holding his form well at present.

PURE FANTASY shaped as if still in good form, not ideally placed the way this went; waited with, shaken up under 2f out, kept on, never landed a blow.

GREEN HOWARD is better judged on the better signs of his previous start, not ideally placed on this occasion whilst he's never been one suited to a tactical race; raced off the pace, ridden over 1f out, one paced, never a threat.

SILVERY MOON (IRE) ran below form, likely to have been beaten further in a more truly-run race; tracked pace, weakened final 1f.
