All 16 ran.

Winning Owner: Kiwi Racing

Time: 1m 39.97s

Overrounds: Industry SP 122%, Betfair SP 98.4%

A fairly useful handicap but with so many making their reappearances it's to be expected that some will leave this run behind, though the first 4 do give the form a solid look.

KIWI BAY minus the cheekpieces he wore last backend and whose rider is good value for claim, took advantage of career-low mark after 5 months off and his last 5 wins have come at this track; prominent, travelled fluently, led 2f out, kept going well; will remain well treated, but consistency was a problem last year.

LAZARUS BELL ran well after 5 months off, looks on a fair mark and should prove up to winning a similar event; mid-field, travelled well, headway 2f out, kept on, pulled clear of rest; will continue to give good account.

KNIGHT OWL finished 2013 on a high and ran respectably after 7 months off; mid-field, good headway 2f out, edged left, effort flattened out; likely to be better for run.

FAZZA goes well under these conditions and was better than the bare result after 5 months off, never won from mark this high but not one to dismiss out of hand; held up, headway over 1f out, stayed on for hands-and-heels ride from unpromising position, never nearer.

CAPAILL LIATH (IRE) back up in trip after 8 days off, failed to build on promise of last run, form in handicaps not quite so consistent as in claimers of late, making him vulnerable to less-exposed sorts; prominent, driven 2f out, one paced.

NO POPPY (IRE) after 6 months off, offered something to work on despite looking rusty, looks on an interesting mark but is on long losing run; mid-field, off the bridle long way out, kept on, nearest at the finish; likely to be better for run.

SNOW BAY back up in trip, again ran below form and has struggled since winning at Chester last June; led, headed 2f out, weakened.

DESTINY BLUE (IRE) wasn't disgraced after 4 months off but his attitude has been questioned in the past; slowly into stride, held up, late headway; should prove suited by a return to 9f+.

AL MUHEER (IRE) starts this year 2 lb below last winning mark but probably needed run after 6 months off; mid-field, made little impression.

SAVE THE BEES was below form after 11 weeks off, but his wins all came over further last year; held up, made little impression.

STAFFHOSS making turf debut, was entitled to need this run after 14 months off but has plenty to prove now, not least his effectiveness on turf; mid-field, not settle fully, weakened 2f out.

FORT BELVEDERE back on turf, fared no better in first-time hood after 6 weeks off; raced wide, in touch, weakened over 1f out.
