broke his listed duck in first-time cheekpieces, ending up in the right place toward the stands rail the way the race unfolded and typically responsive to strong urgings from his rider back down in trip, ungainly but little doubting his willingness, this his sixth win in 18 months since joining currently bang in-form yard; raced wide, prominent, ridden 3f out, hung left, carried head bit awkwardly, stayed on to lead over 1f out, dug deep under pressure; will continue to give a good account.

ran well back up in trip after 8 days off, again rather dictating matters by taking a group of 3 wide from the off, though he stuck to his task well once Big Country headed him and was clear of the third; raced wide, led until over 1f out, stayed on.

ran creditably back down in trip after 9 days off but was one of the 3 that raced wide from the outset and is a tad vulnerable in this company; slowly into stride, raced wide, held up, headway 2f out, one paced.

has shown enough to think this sort of level shouldn't be beyond him but wasn't seen to best effect the way this unfolded; raced on inner initially, prominent, came wide 4f out, challenged down centre of track 2f out, weakened over 1f out, left poorly placed.

An unusual race for the track with the first 3 making an early move to come over towards the stands rail, the others belatedly joining them but all well beaten off by the end, including the favourite, but it's still smart form from the first 2.

BIG COUNTRY (IRE) broke his listed duck in first-time cheekpieces, ending up in the right place toward the stands rail the way the race unfolded and typically responsive to strong urgings from his rider back down in trip, ungainly but little doubting his willingness, this his sixth win in 18 months since joining currently bang in-form yard; raced wide, prominent, ridden 3f out, hung left, carried head bit awkwardly, stayed on to lead over 1f out, dug deep under pressure; will continue to give a good account.

VENTURA KNIGHT (IRE) ran creditably back down in trip after 9 days off but was one of the 3 that raced wide from the outset and is a tad vulnerable in this company; slowly into stride, raced wide, held up, headway 2f out, one paced.
