With both Pyjama Party and Iconic failing to give their running, this wasn’t as competitive as it might have been, though there is little reason to doubt the result as far as the principals are concerned; the pace was true.

PALLISTER improved further to resume winning ways in ready fashion, continuing a theme of gradual progression; chased leaders, challenged early in straight, stayed on to lead entering final 1f, ridden out; should remain competitive from a handicapping perspective.

VOLUNTEER POINT (IRE) ran up to best after just 5 days off, only giving way to one showing some improvement; mid-field, switched entering straight, ridden over 1f out, stuck to task.

ASSAULT ON ROME (IRE) merely underlined inconsistency to some extent; waited with, driven 2f out, kept on, never on terms.

SAKHEE'S RETURN underperformed; waited with, headway end of back straight, pushed along 2f out, merely plugged on.

GET KNOTTED (IRE) continues below form; chased leaders, ridden early in straight, weakened over 1f out.

PYJAMA PARTY (IRE) followed below-par effort with even worse one and suddenly finds himself with questions to answer; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, forced wide home turn, weakened over 1f out.
