defied a penalty to follow up his win in a similar event at Windsor, always well positioned, his task made easier as the trio ahead of him in the market failed to fire, though he ultimately scored in convincing fashion and is worth crediting with some improvement on the day; chased leader, led over 1f out, kept going well; consistency is his strong suit and he should continue to give a good account at this sort of level.

reverted to turf, attracted support at long odds and excelled himself up in class; led, headed over 1f out, kept on; clearly at the top of his game, but there was an opportunistic element to this performance and, with his official rating sure to go through the roof once more, he will need to back this up to remain competitive.

faced competition up front on this occasion and wasn't disgraced; in touch, ridden over 2f out, not quicken; holding his form well this season, though may prove difficult to place close to hand.

had excuses on his previous start and did so once again, poorly placed in relation to the front pair and unable to justify his position of strength in the betting; held up, pushed along from 3f out, kept on, never landed a blow; worth another chance.
