in a change of headgear (back in blinkers), bounced back to form to land a first win in almost 3 years; mid-field, reminders after fifth, not fluent next, labouring early final circuit, headway passing 3 out, stayed on to lead before last, driven out, suited by the way the race developed back down in trip; has 2 ways of running, so wouldn't be sure to repeat this effort.

given a chance by the handicapper, did well to hang in there for so long under an overly-aggressive ride (other pace setter dropped away), shaping like the best horse at the weights; chased leader, slow seventh, jumped on next, jumped right 3 out (usual 4 out), ridden home turn, headed before last, no extra final 100 yds; won from a 5 lb higher mark last winter and is one to be interested in.
