WITNESS IN COURT (IRE) bounced back to his best in taking this race for the second year in succession, his jumping an asset this time (had unseated over National fences previous 2 starts); jumped soundly, chased leader from second, jumped on 4 out, responded well; we know enough about him to believe he'll find it tough going back up the weights (yet to come close to gaining back-to-back successes).

TENNIS CAP (FR) continues in good heart, coping well with this return to fences under less testing conditions, just beaten by one who bounced back; patiently ridden, travelled fluently, headway before 4 out, chased leader after next, stayed on.

JUST CAMERON has done most of his racing at around the minimum trip but didn't seem to fail for stamina, at least not under these conditions, seemingly beaten by the weight as much as anything; chased leaders, went with zest, shaken up 3 out, kept on.

SHADOWS LENGTHEN shaped as if back in form after 6 months off, which shouldn't be surprising given that the stable is having winners left, right and centre at the minute, and he'll obviously be fresh if connections opt to keep him on the go through the summer; in touch, travelled fluently, shaken up entering straight, hit 2 out, kept on.

DARE ME (IRE) wasn't disgraced, not quite at the level he showed when winning at Ascot but still more like it, the emphasis on speed probably not in his favour so much as some; mid-field, hit tenth, ridden approaching 3 out, one paced.

SAINTS AND SINNERS (IRE) after 4 months off, best not judged on this run, probably needing the emphasis less on speed now he's getting older, but at least his mark should fall a bit more after this; raced off the pace, pushed along tenth, never landed a blow.

ALDERBROOK LAD (IRE) again finished well held, just not in good enough form for a race as competitive as this; pressed leader, left in front second, headed 4 out, dropped away soon after.

GLEANN NA NDOCHAIS (IRE) after 6 months off, was 3 lb out of the weights and found this too competitive, though that's not to say he won't be back to something like his best next time; raced off the pace, not always fluent, never dangerous.

SHARP RISE (IRE) led until unseated second on his return to fences, making it his third non-completion in his last 6 starts.

FILBERT (IRE) failed to complete after 5 months off; held up, stumbled and unseated soon after eighth, the mishap no fault of his.
