Fairly useful form for the pair who pulled clear, though a few of those behind probably have as much potential further down the line, the fourth shaping much better than the distance beaten might suggest and the fifth very much the type to come into his own in handicaps next season; the early pace was steady, a few not really settling as they might as a result, but conditions were such that the field still got stretched.

KING BOLETE (IRE) progressed as expected and is the sort to continue improving for some time yet, his stable noted for their patient approach with similar types; mid-field, headway under pressure 2f out, stayed on to lead final 100 yds; he'll stay beyond 1m and will probably develop into a useful handicapper at 3 yrs.

FELIX DE VEGA (IRE) improved at the third attempt but this won't have done his prospective handicap mark any good; mid-field, headway over 2f out, edged ahead approaching final 1f, headed final 100 yds, stuck to task, pulled clear of rest; he's sure to stay beyond 1m at 3 yrs given how well he saw this out.

BOLD ran to a similar level as on debut, as on that occasion his effort rather petering out towards the finish and maybe just finding 1m on testing ground more than he cope with at this stage; held up, travelled better than most, headway home turn, went on 3f out, headed approaching final 1f, no extra; he remains open to improvement.

BORAK (IRE) (130,000Y: by Kodiac: closely related to winner up to 10.4f Tamanaco (2-y-o 6f winner, by Catcher In The Rye) and half-brother to 3 winners, including useful winner up to 1m Choose Wisely (2-y-o 5f-7f winner, by Choisir) and useful 7f/1m winner (stays 10.5f) Ardmay (by Strategic Prince): dam unraced) was the sole newcomer and produced a promising first effort, shaping much better than the bare result, and appeals as likely to make above-average improvement with this behind him, probably enough for him to win a maiden next time; dwelt, in rear, travelled strongly, headway on bridle over 3f out, challenged soon after, weakened approaching final 1f.

SEA OF HEAVEN (IRE) ran to a similar level as on debut, all the while considerately handled, and is very much the sort to prove a different proposition in time; held up, travelled better than most, left behind from 2f out, not given anything like a hard race; he requires another run for a handicap mark and the chances are that'll happen fairly soon before he's put away for the winter with handicaps in mind at 3 yrs.

REWRITTEN strong in betting, went backwards from debut, though the much softer conditions do offer some sort of excuse; close up, ridden over 3f out, left behind over 2f out.

MR MOROCCO again showed little and is likely to need time and/or handicaps to reveal what ability he possesses; prominent, weakened over 2f out.

ILLYA KURYAKIN failed to back up dubious latest effort and has now managed to beat just 3 rivals in as many maidens; held up, always behind.

EAGLE EMPIRE (IRE) again finished well held but is hardly bred to be excelling over this sort of test and was almost certainly unsuited by the emphasis on stamina; led until 3f out, weakened 2f out, possibly being brought along with handicaps in mind.
