picked up where he left off 7 weeks earlier, another success story for this yard, this taking his improvement for Appleby to the 25 lb range, arguably value a length extra as well given what he overcame; dwelt, tracked pace soon after start, had to wait for gap under 2f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, edged right, held on gamely.

back in usual tongue strap, duly wasted no time getting back to form, not often he's failed to fire since the spring; handy, shuffled back early in straight, effort 1f out, responded well.

along with Beakers N Num Nums, did little for the form of the Sandown race in which they'd filled the first 2 placings, failing to repeat the form shown there; raced wide, mid-field, effort 2f out, shaken up soon after, found less than looked likely.

A valuable race for the grade, as befitting a series final, though there's little out of the ordinary about the bare form; it didn't really pay to be too far off the pace after the fourth had steadied things after 1f or so, the fourth doing best of the patiently-ridden contingent and the main body of the field returning in a cluster.

DONNY ROVER (IRE) picked up where he left off 7 weeks earlier, another success story for this yard, this taking his improvement for Appleby to the 25 lb range, arguably value a length extra as well given what he overcame; dwelt, tracked pace soon after start, had to wait for gap under 2f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, edged right, held on gamely.

COSMIC HALO remains in good form, probably deserving of extra credit on the day; soon steadied, shaken up early in straight, headway 1f out, closed all the way to the line, nearest at the finish, best of those held up.

ARTFUL PRINCE who gave trouble at the start, nonetheless ran one of his better races, helped by the run of the race; dictated, went with enthusiasm, kicked on 2f out, caught last ½f, no extra, well ridden.

NO WIN NO FEE after 6 weeks off, again ran creditably; tracked pace, every chance over 1f out, kept on.

MAVEN claimer ridden, shaped as if back in form, not seen to best effect; raced freely, headway when forced wide home turn, kept on out wide final 1f, never on terms, better when ridden positively.
