had created a good impression at 2 yrs, but looks more a 3-y-o and, well backed, took the step up in class in her stride, controlling the race and showing a decisive turn of foot to settle matters when the pace picked up; led, travelled well, joined around 3f out, quickened clear over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; she's open to further improvement and would obviously be a serious contender were she to be supplemented for the Guineas (holds an entry in the Irish equivalent).

got warm and was on her toes beforehand, but ran at least as well as when winning at Group 3 level here in the autumn, just lacking the turn of foot of the winner; handy, disputed lead around 3f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, no impression on winner; she's still rather unfurnished and although she shapes as if she'll be suited by 1m, it's hard to envisage her turning the tables on the winner in the Guineas.

after 7 months off, over 1f longer trip, comes from a stable in cracking form and proved better than ever, coming from further back than the first 2; held up, headway over 2f out, kept on final 1f, made little impression on winner; she isn't particularly imposing, but this suggests she has trained on well, her pedigree suggesting she can stay 1m.

ran creditably after 7 months off, back down to the trip over which she ran her best race at 2 yrs, but probably not ideally suited by that; in touch, not quicken 2f out, kept on; bred to stay 1¼m.

the only runner without a classic entry, never threatened but had plenty on at this level and wasn't disgraced after 7 months off, having got warm beforehand; held up, not settle fully, shaken up over 2f out, not quicken soon after.

the one runner to have had an outing this year, couldn't improve even on the level she'd run to then, yet to find her form after being busy at 2 yrs; chased leaders, not quicken over 2f out, held when short of room briefly 1f out.

held leading claims on the form of her Lowther win and looked in good shape, well backed too, but she hadn't handled the track when seventh in the Cheveley Park and it was a similar story this time, ultimately a fair way below form; pressed leader, not quicken 2f out (looked ill at ease), weakened well inside final 1f; she should stay 7f, though her pedigree is a mixed one, and she may yet fulfil the promise of her York win at a track other than Newmarket.

had run to a near-useful level in the last 2 of 3 Group 3s last summer, but that form was well short of what was required here and she was well held after 8 months off; held up, effort 3f out, made no impression.

the stable third string on her previous Group-race outing, couldn't be given away beforehand, looked dull in her coat after 6 months off and performed accordingly, never at the races; raced off the pace, pushed along under 3f out, made no impression; her form is on soft/heavy going.

an Irish Guineas entry, was asked a big question on just her second start and didn't have the answer, looking in need of the run and unable to hold her place as the race took shape; handy, not settle fully, pushed along over 2f out, labouring soon after; she has potential to do better in calmer waters.

looks the part and has a pedigree to match, but she was well held, up markedly in grade, after 6 months off, having beaten mostly newcomers when winning a novice on her second and final start at 2 yrs; chased leaders, ridden 3f out, weakened soon after; it's back to the drawing board.

The traditional trial at the meeting for the One Thousand Guineas, 8 of the 11 runners entered for the classic, 2 of the other 3 holding an Irish Guineas entry, the race open and ultimately informative; the gallop was ordinary, quite a few keen in the early stages, the winner and second well positioned as the race unfolded, though the winner's turn of foot was clearly decisive, the first 3 comfortably clear of the remainder.

SOLILOQUY had created a good impression at 2 yrs, but looks more a 3-y-o and, well backed, took the step up in class in her stride, controlling the race and showing a decisive turn of foot to settle matters when the pace picked up; led, travelled well, joined around 3f out, quickened clear over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; she's open to further improvement and would obviously be a serious contender were she to be supplemented for the Guineas (holds an entry in the Irish equivalent).
