put the icing on the cake of her excellent season, the hard work largely done before this with her performances against some of the best males around in the summer, not so emphatic as in the Jacques le Marois but not asked to be, ridden to beat Integral and job done, stalking her, leaving it late but picking her off with a bit up her sleeve, no whip needed (rider had dropped it); her seconds to Solow and Muhaarar are as weighty as her last 2 wins, her ever-developing career bearing all the hallmarks of Andre Fabre.

might not have rewarded in full the decision to keep her in training as a 5-y-o but that's been circumstances beyond her control in the main, including the fact that Esoterique has raised the bar since their regular meetings last year, Integral restricted to just 3 races this season, absent since misfiring at Royal Ascot, back on song for this but second-best here with the advantage of dictating, kicked on 2f out, worn down in the last 50 yds, giving plenty all the same.

reproduced all and possibly more of the form that got her second (to Ervedya) in the French Guineas, like the second freshened up since Royal Ascot, on the flank throughout but the only one of the 3-y-os to seriously challenge, beaten by her elders and good ones at that.

has the frame that suggests she could well make a better 4-y-o, in which case she'll be more of a force in these races, falling short for now but running well in personal terms, and, encouragingly, there has been a bit more purpose about her in the finish lately, including back up to a mile for this, just beaten on merit, never much nearer.

on a real roll since joining the yard, another advance in form terms upped in grade, without doing herself full justice, held up in a falsely-run race and needing to check/switch a few times, unable to gather any momentum until it was too late.

Probably a better Group 1 than the bare form can communicate, a modest pace meaning the field didn't stretch out, but class told in the end, the highest-rated pair dominating the finish with the 3-y-os generally running as well as they could against them; Integral did the dictating but Esoterique always had her in her sights, the action unfolding against the far rail.

ESOTERIQUE (IRE) put the icing on the cake of her excellent season, the hard work largely done before this with her performances against some of the best males around in the summer, not so emphatic as in the Jacques le Marois but not asked to be, ridden to beat Integral and job done, stalking her, leaving it late but picking her off with a bit up her sleeve, no whip needed (rider had dropped it); her seconds to Solow and Muhaarar are as weighty as her last 2 wins, her ever-developing career bearing all the hallmarks of Andre Fabre.

INTEGRAL might not have rewarded in full the decision to keep her in training as a 5-y-o but that's been circumstances beyond her control in the main, including the fact that Esoterique has raised the bar since their regular meetings last year, Integral restricted to just 3 races this season, absent since misfiring at Royal Ascot, back on song for this but second-best here with the advantage of dictating, kicked on 2f out, worn down in the last 50 yds, giving plenty all the same.

FADHAYYIL (IRE) has the frame that suggests she could well make a better 4-y-o, in which case she'll be more of a force in these races, falling short for now but running well in personal terms, and, encouragingly, there has been a bit more purpose about her in the finish lately, including back up to a mile for this, just beaten on merit, never much nearer.

REALTRA (IRE) on a real roll since joining the yard, another advance in form terms upped in grade, without doing herself full justice, held up in a falsely-run race and needing to check/switch a few times, unable to gather any momentum until it was too late.

BAWINA (IRE) has established herself in top fillies company this year and perhaps she was over the top for this, running flat, losing her place at the crucial stage, no spark about her this time, the damage done before hampered over 1f out.

MAIMARA (FR) found out in Group 1s the last twice, but just not herself here, keen again (if not so bad as in the Moulin) but making only a short-lived effort.

RAYDARA (IRE) overdue another try beyond 1m, but first and foremost she's not of Group 1 standard, ridden handier than in the Matron but outpaced when it mattered, over 1f out.

MALABAR had been well beaten in the US since Goodwood and that venture perhaps left its mark, underperforming here and looking tentative with it, soon backing out as things hotted up.
