back in headgear for her return to fences, made the most of a good opportunity to land this race for a second year running, though wasn't as convincing this time around, perhaps a bit rusty in the jumping department (tended to go to her right) and, almost needless to say for one who was second in the Grand National, she'll be better with the emphasis more on stamina next time; led, not fluent first, slow fourth, tackled from 4 out, about a length up and starting to take control when left long way clear last.

seems to have lost her form completely over fences and will be better off campaigned solely over hurdles for the time being; soon steadied, not always fluent, pushed along end of back straight, lost touch quickly, left a distant second at the last, said to have bled.

after 8 weeks off, picked up where left off when last seen, giving the Grand National runner-up a sizeable fright for much of the straight, though the form clearly isn't at all robust; patiently ridden, went with zest, took closer order eleventh, close up 4 out, starting to come off second best (about a length down) but keeping on when stumbled and unseated last, still with her stamina for this 2f longer trip over fences to prove fully.
held up, took closer order 11th, close up 4 out, keeping on when stumbled and unseated last

didn't look in quite the same form as last time, this more tactical affair perhaps not suiting so well; in touch, untidy sixth, again thirteenth, starting to lose touch when unseated rider 3 out.

The same 1-2 as in the race last year, though that doesn't tell half the story, their careers over fences having followed very different paths since then and Drinks Interval would have finished a distant last of the 4 had the other pair not departed late; Magic of Light was left alone in front.

MAGIC OF LIGHT (IRE) back in headgear for her return to fences, made the most of a good opportunity to land this race for a second year running, though wasn't as convincing this time around, perhaps a bit rusty in the jumping department (tended to go to her right) and, almost needless to say for one who was second in the Grand National, she'll be better with the emphasis more on stamina next time; led, not fluent first, slow fourth, tackled from 4 out, about a length up and starting to take control when left long way clear last.
