The Hungerford struggles to live up to its billing as one of the top 7f races in Britain, falling between the Lennox and the City of York, both worth more to the winner, and there were disappointments in a tactical race, though the winner scored in some style, under a penalty for his win in the Lennox, his performance well up to standard for the race.

SIR DANCEALOT (IRE) under a penalty, followed up his win in the Lennox in decisive fashion (getting a clear run this time), coping better than anticipated with the tempo of the race, finally this summer fulfilling the potential of his 2-y-o season; held up, quickened to lead over 1f out, in command soon after, won readily; he's in the Park Stakes, the third of Britain's Group 2 races at 7f, the Foret an option at the highest level, likely to give a good account in either or both of those.

DREAM OF DREAMS (IRE) matched the form he showed here last time, the switch in tactics working well in a tactical race and showing him to maximum advantage; dictated, quickened over 2f out, headed over 1f out, left behind by winner soon after.

BRETON ROCK (IRE) successful in this in 2014, confirmed his return to form, though he was beaten much more convincingly by the winner than had been the case at Goodwood; in rear, travelled well, effort over 2f out, not quicken, kept on well final 1f, never landed a blow.

TOMYRIS had optimum conditions and showed to better advantage than most, seemingly better than ever, not sure to reproduce the form however; waited with, ridden over 2f out, not quicken, kept on final 1f.

GUSTAV KLIMT (IRE) back down in trip and down in grade, looked to have been found a good opportunity and disappointed, never really threatening, lacking pace for a 7f race that tested speed over stamina; waited with, ridden 3f out, not quicken.

DAN'S DREAM ran about as well as could have been expected back up in grade, and that despite failing to settle due to the lack of pace early on; in touch, pulled hard, ridden over 2f out, made no impression.

YAFTA back up in trip, had the same chance as the third on their running over 6f last time, but he wasn't in the same form, not helped by the lack of pace early on; tracked leader, ridden 3f out, not quicken, weakened 1f out; he's the type to bounce back quickly.

LIBRISA BREEZE ran poorly, though the run of the race didn't suit him at all and he was possibly running a bit sooner than ideal as well, probably best to put a line through this; tracked pace, took keen hold, ridden over 2f out, not quicken, lost place soon after.
