Not the strongest of fillies listed races with several of those that looked open to improvement beforehand disappointing, the favourite an obvious case in point, whilst the bunched nature of the field in behind the clear winner, less than 3 lengths separating places 2 to 7 at the line, suggests that it's probably muddling form.

ELAS RUBY improved again to open her account at this level; in touch, ridden over 2f out, stayed on to lead entering final 1f, drew clear and well on top finish; will be suited by 1½m and, with that in mind, may do better still.

EBBESBOURNE (IRE) improved again up in grade, despite not having everthying go her way; raced off the pace, ridden over 2f out, keeping on when short of room entering final 1f, kept on well, never nearer; not necessarily bred to but leaves the impression that she's likely to stay beyond 1¼m, and may do better still as her stamina is drawn out.

SMART TOGETHER (USA) upped in trip, improved further up in grade without yet looking the finished article; mid-field, pushed along 3f out, hung left, kept on; remains with potential.

INDIAN BLESSING ran respectably without building on the promise of her last run, a little below that form in fact; close up, travelled well, led over 1f out, headed entering final 1f, no extra.

PLEASANT SURPRISE (IRE) back down in trip/back on turf, had work to do up in grade having won a weak maiden last time but she ran well, looking comfortable at this level for a long way and leaving the impression that this won't prove the limit of her ability; led, travelled fluently, headed over 1f out, no extra but not persevered with once held; it's still early days and this experience is unlikely to be lost on her, and she remains with potential.

PATTIE seemed to excel herself up in grade, but may well prove flattered given the muddling nature of this; in rear, ridden under 2f out, never a threat.

TALAAYEB set a clear standard judged on her effort in the Guineas but proved to be a disappointment, surely more to it than the longer trip (bred to be suited by this far); dwelt and raced off the pace, travelled well, good headway 2f out, every chance approaching final 1f, found less than looked likely; this goes down as an opportunity missed, but she's probably worth another chance based on prior promise.

FLEUR FORSYTE was far too free up in grade, giving herself no chance of seeing things out; close up, pulled hard, folded over 1f out; she may get back on track back at a lower level.
