back down in trip, bounced back to form to get off the mark over fences, not a huge amount of improvement required having been gifted his own way out in front in an uncompetitive affair; raced clear, jumped well and went with enthusiasm, closed down leaving back straight but pressed on again 4 out, asserted run-in, ridden out; should at least remain competitive.

again ran well and would have got closer to the winner had his rider not delayed his effort for so long; patiently ridden, travelled fluently, headway between 3 out and 2 out, stayed on but made no impression on winner; should continue to give a good account.

failed to repeat his last effort, an error just as things were taking shape putting him on the back foot; in touch, went prominent end of back straight, every chance when blundered 4 out, not recover; type to bounce back quickly.

A handicap which lacked depth, and after the winner was allowed his own way out in front he had little difficulty in seeing off the rest.
