won 3 times during a very busy 2016/17 campaign and, freshened up by a 7-month break, returned to something like his best in claiming this hard-fought success; waited with, shaken up leaving home turn, stayed on to lead between last 2, all out to hold on; he probably won't be easy to place in short term.

ran well after 7 months off and saw things out better than has often been the case; made running, jumped well, pressed on from home turn, headed between last 2, rallied run-in; struggled for consistency in 2016/17, so remains to be seen if able to back this up.

ran respectably after 7 months off, particularly as this trip is on the short side nowadays; held up, in contention from home turn, challenged between last 2, no extra only late on; should be sharper for the run and will be suited by a return to further (stays 3¼m).

back over fences, shaped similarly to last time and looks one with problems all of a sudden; in touch, typically travelled well, every chance when hit 3 out, folded tamely soon after; something to prove at present.

back over fences, faced a stiff task in this grade but again ran no sort of race; raced wide, mid-division, slow third, badly outpaced from next, beaten long way out; questions to answer now.

All 6 ran. Fences: 11.

Winning Owner: Gigginstown House Stud

Time: 4m 18.9s Closing Sectional: (3.1f): 50.8s (98.7%)

Overrounds: Industry SP 112%, Betfair SP 99.9%

A grandstand finish to this Grade 2 but, in truth, it doesn't appeal as strong form for the level, with victory going to one who is a long way down Gigginstown's pecking order; the pace was sound.
