highly progressive last year, his only defeat coming in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, and made the perfect start to his 2014 campaign, improving again to come out on top on good style after 7 months off; mid-field, went with enthusiasm, good headway over 2f out, led under pressure 1f out, hung left but kept on well final 1f, won readily; one to follow this year, and will hold strong claims in the Ascot Gold Cup.

shaped well after 7 months off, running near to his best despite an aggressive ride that played into the hands of the winner; raced clear, went with zest, closed down 2f out, headed 1f out, no extra, made effort earlier than ideal.

ran creditably after 7 months off, shaping as though the run might have been needed; close up, travelled fluently, good headway over 2f out, every chance soon after, effort flattened out; next run should reveal more as to whether she can progress again this year.

Last year's St. Leger winner comfortably defied a penalty on his return to action, looking every bit as good as he was in 2013, and probably even better, and he looks set to be a big player on the cup scene this year, the form looking solid in behind.

LEADING LIGHT (IRE) highly progressive last year, his only defeat coming in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, and made the perfect start to his 2014 campaign, improving again to come out on top on good style after 7 months off; mid-field, went with enthusiasm, good headway over 2f out, led under pressure 1f out, hung left but kept on well final 1f, won readily; one to follow this year, and will hold strong claims in the Ascot Gold Cup.
