has returned a rejuvenated character this season, following up his reappearance chase success from a 16 lb higher mark back over hurdles; close up, led approaching 3 out, tackled run-in, found extra; didn't have much in hand in what wasn't the most competitive of affairs, though is clearly back on song and will remain with handicapping scope based on past exploits in this sphere.

again failed to fire over fences on his previous start, but having been refitted with headgear, proved at least as good as ever back over hurdles, finishing runner-up in this race for the second year in a row; waited with, crept closer approaching sixth, chased leader between last 2, challenged run-in, stuck to task, pulled clear of remainder.

handicapper has given him a chance, but there wasn't much encouragement to be gained from this return to hurdles after 6 months off, inheriting third rather by default; led, headed approaching 4 out, outpaced approaching next, plugged on passed beaten horses to retake third run-in.

without the headgear this time, failed to get home, possibly still working his way back to full fitness, though it is worth remembering that his sole previous attempt at this trip (runner-up over C&D) isn't the most solid piece of form and he may prove best short of 3m; held up, not settle fully, crept closer approaching sixth, faltered 2 out.

making handicap debut, ran no sort of race, taking little interest from a very early stage; soon detached, jumping sketchily and never travelling well, pulled up soon after 4 out; one to treat with caution.

Not a strong handicap for the grade, only the front 2 giving their running, First Fandango defying top weight from a mark 10 lb below the ceiling; the pace was just fair.
