wasn't firing fully in the spring but had been freshened up by a 10-week break and was back to his best to come out on top, needing to be to hold off a well-treated, in-form opponent in Flash City; helped force pace, went on over 2f out, driven approaching final 1f, held on gamely.

is going through a good spell at present even though it hasn't yet yielded a win, again running well after just 4 days off, and he is threatening to come good soon; chased leaders, shaken up 2f out, every chance final 100 yds, stuck to task, pulled clear of remainder; can gain compensation before long.

ran one of lesser races, his good run of form coming to a halt, not helped by a failure to settle; tracked pace, took strong hold, challenged 2f out, weakened inside final 1f.

seems to be in a lull for now, disappointing ever since C&D win late last month, although being down on his nose at the start wouldn't have helped here to be fair; awkward leaving stalls, in touch, driven over 1f out, effort flattened out.

seemed unsuited by conditions that placed the emphasis so much on speed; soon behind, badly outpaced, made no impression, found the test inadequate; will benefit from return to 6f/7f.

Not a lot of depth to this sprint with only 6 runners but it's form to view in a positive light as far as the pair that pulled clear are concerned, both of them well-handicapped horses that ought to go well again.

SPACE ARTIST (IRE) wasn't firing fully in the spring but had been freshened up by a 10-week break and was back to his best to come out on top, needing to be to hold off a well-treated, in-form opponent in Flash City; helped force pace, went on over 2f out, driven approaching final 1f, held on gamely.

FLASH CITY (ITY) is going through a good spell at present even though it hasn't yet yielded a win, again running well after just 4 days off, and he is threatening to come good soon; chased leaders, shaken up 2f out, every chance final 100 yds, stuck to task, pulled clear of remainder; can gain compensation before long.

SALVATORE FURY (IRE) ran one of lesser races, his good run of form coming to a halt, not helped by a failure to settle; tracked pace, took strong hold, challenged 2f out, weakened inside final 1f.

PERFECT BLOSSOM seems to be in a lull for now, disappointing ever since C&D win late last month, although being down on his nose at the start wouldn't have helped here to be fair; awkward leaving stalls, in touch, driven over 1f out, effort flattened out.

JUMBO STEPS (IRE) seemed unsuited by conditions that placed the emphasis so much on speed; soon behind, badly outpaced, made no impression, found the test inadequate; will benefit from return to 6f/7f.

GOTTCHER continues badly out of sorts; helped force pace, folded tamely after 2f out.
