is in the form of his life aged 10, though he's benefited from a couple of substandard races for the grade to win his last 2, this one also suiting his running style; dropped out, good progress from end of back straight, closing when untidy 4 out, jumped on 2 out, threatened briefly run-in, found extra; he'll be pushing a career-high mark next time, too.

ran well in a race run to suit after 8 weeks off for all he had his winning run ended, a reassessed mark of 132 about right; in touch briefly early, off pace from third, outpaced approaching straight, kept on well from 2 out, stayed on, suited by the strong pace.

picked up where he left off when last seen after 5 months off, posting another sound placed effort, albeit with no excuses; held up, progress entering straight, effort between last 2, kept on; vulnerable to less-exposed sorts.

easy to back, again wasn't seen to best effect, once more rather overdoing his now-trademark front-running tactics; forced pace, headed briefly third, pecked on landing 4 out, headed again 2 out, rallied until run-in, no extra.

is proving expensive to follow and, gambled on, ran a typical race; patiently ridden, not fluent second, ridden home turn, weakened, beaten when not fluent straight; he flatters to deceive far too often to make him a betting proposition.

A race comprised of largely fully exposed handicappers, and the 2 who raced clear probably did too much, allowing a trio of patiently-ridden ones to emerge from the pack to fill the first 3 positions after the field had grouped up again by the home turn.

ROCK ON ROCKY is in the form of his life aged 10, though he's benefited from a couple of substandard races for the grade to win his last 2, this one also suiting his running style; dropped out, good progress from end of back straight, closing when untidy 4 out, jumped on 2 out, threatened briefly run-in, found extra; he'll be pushing a career-high mark next time, too.

COLIN'S BROTHER ran well in a race run to suit after 8 weeks off for all he had his winning run ended, a reassessed mark of 132 about right; in touch briefly early, off pace from third, outpaced approaching straight, kept on well from 2 out, stayed on, suited by the strong pace.

CUT THE CORNER (IRE) picked up where he left off when last seen after 5 months off, posting another sound placed effort, albeit with no excuses; held up, progress entering straight, effort between last 2, kept on; vulnerable to less-exposed sorts.

IFANDBUTWHYNOT (IRE) easy to back, again wasn't seen to best effect, once more rather overdoing his now-trademark front-running tactics; forced pace, headed briefly third, pecked on landing 4 out, headed again 2 out, rallied until run-in, no extra.

MICK THONIC (FR) is proving expensive to follow and, gambled on, ran a typical race; patiently ridden, not fluent second, ridden home turn, weakened, beaten when not fluent straight; he flatters to deceive far too often to make him a betting proposition.

BOXER BEAT (IRE) lost touch before the straight after 9 weeks off.
