An ordinary handicap for the grade, none close to the 95 rating ceiling, but the result makes sense nonetheless with a couple of 3-y-os fighting out the finish, Bobby K proving very determined; the pace was modest.

BOBBY K (IRE) confirmed promise of last run as he resumed winning ways in first-time cheekpieces, not needing to improve but demonstrating an exemplary attitude in the finish; tracked pace, travelled fluently, led over 1f out, headed approaching final 1f but rallied to lead again soon after, ridden out; he won't go up much for this and is certain to be of interest again.

MAINSAIL ATLANTIC (USA) ran best race back in a handicap, losing out by a narrow margin but not doing anything wrong this time; mid-field, travelled well, chased leaders home turn, led briefly approaching last ½f, kept on; he probably does have his quirks but the handicapper hasn't overburdened him and he should prove capable of going one better, especially with lesser races open to him.

KESWICK again ran well, not ideally placed the way this went and he may have benefited from a stronger gallop, but a 7 lb rise for his last win does demand a shade more; raced off the pace, good progress home turn, every chance inside final 1f, kept on.

FAYEZ (IRE) back in headgear, wasted no time getting back on track, and wasn't ideally placed the way this went, but his mark looks little more than average judged on recent form; raced off the pace, ridden early in straight, kept on, never landed a blow.

MEDALLA DE ORO is operating below best at present, again not seeing out his race despite dropping back in trip; led, headed over 1f out, weakened.

DEREK DUVAL (USA) fared no better, reported post-race to have suffered a breathing problem; mid-field, labouring badly 3f out, soon beaten; he's gone the wrong way since Epsom, and is left with something to prove now.
