proved better than ever, gaining a deserved first success since his juvenile days after a string of good efforts; disputed lead, ridden over 2f out, headed soon after, rallied to lead again well inside final 1f, went clear; career-high mark makes life tougher, but will continue to give a good account nonetheless.

again ran creditably kept to these tactics, but had no answer to the winner's finishing effort, long been hard to win with after all; disputed lead, went with zest, ridden approaching 2f out, went on soon after, headed well inside final 1f, no extra; will remain vulnerable for win purposes.

continues to be given a chance by the handicapper and confirmed promise of his last run, doing best behind a pair who disputed the lead throughout, and he certainly looks to be building up to something; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, stayed on close home; one to keep an eye on.

gelded since last seen, was ridden more patiently than usual and shaped as if better for the run on first outing since leaving Luca Cumani, in first-time cheekpieces after 11 months off; held up, travelled as well as any, shaken up approaching 2f out, headway soon after, no extra final 1f; likely to be much closer to form next time.

A competitive handicap on paper which went the way of the likeable Felix Leiter, for all it strikes as being no more than solid form, with the front pair having this between them from the start.

FELIX LEITER proved better than ever, gaining a deserved first success since his juvenile days after a string of good efforts; disputed lead, ridden over 2f out, headed soon after, rallied to lead again well inside final 1f, went clear; career-high mark makes life tougher, but will continue to give a good account nonetheless.

GEORGE CINQ again ran creditably kept to these tactics, but had no answer to the winner's finishing effort, long been hard to win with after all; disputed lead, went with zest, ridden approaching 2f out, went on soon after, headed well inside final 1f, no extra; will remain vulnerable for win purposes.

PASSING STAR continues to be given a chance by the handicapper and confirmed promise of his last run, doing best behind a pair who disputed the lead throughout, and he certainly looks to be building up to something; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, stayed on close home; one to keep an eye on.

AIR OF YORK (IRE) back up in trip, fared much better than of late, has dropped to a workable mark if able to build on this; mid-division, driven over 2f out, kept on last ½f, never nearer.

SPIRITING (IRE) gelded since last seen, was ridden more patiently than usual and shaped as if better for the run on first outing since leaving Luca Cumani, in first-time cheekpieces after 11 months off; held up, travelled as well as any, shaken up approaching 2f out, headway soon after, no extra final 1f; likely to be much closer to form next time.

MISTERIOSO (IRE) shaped as if still in good form without building on the promise of his return; waited with, ridden over 2f out, headway over 1f out, no further impression.

SHYRON back on turf, again ran below form, though wasn't knocked about once beaten; held up, never landed a blow.

AQUA ARDENS (GER) back on turf, ran poorly; soon steadied, driven 3f out, weakened over 1f out.

POPESWOOD (IRE) fared little better after just 4 days off; slowly into stride, in rear, always behind; plenty to prove at present.

BOLD in first-time tongue strap, ran no better than on return; in rear, always behind.
