hadn't been at all disgraced from out of the weights in the Cambridgeshire last time and, as expected, showed improved form back in calmer waters, registering a second success with something to spare, needing all of the longer trip to help overcome a less-than-ideal position; held up, took keen hold, progress out wide from 2f out, stayed on to lead late on, had bit in hand; still lightly raced, he's open to further improvement and looks one to keep on side if kept on the go during the winter.

back up in trip and back on all-weather, not only returned to form but ran right up to his recent best, only beaten by a much less exposed 3-y-o; mid-division, headway from early in straight, every chance inside final 1f, stayed on; worth bearing mind given that he's now 4 lb below his last winning mark.

again ran well and deserves credit for her consistency; mid-field, travelled smoothly, headway when had to wait for gap early in straight, edged ahead inside final 1f, headed late on, kept on; sure to go well again.

returned to form, albeit rather seeming beaten on merit, but it's worth bearing in mind that he does have easier handicaps than this open to him; led, gradually wound pace up from over 3f out, tackled approaching 2f out, headed entering final 1f, not quicken.

wasn't disgraced but never threatened and seemed unsuited by the emphasis on speed back down to this trip for the first time this season; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, outpaced approaching 2f out, made little impression.

looked a slightly unlucky loser last time but failed to back that effort up here; in touch, not quicken around 2f out, still every chance entering final 1f, no extra final 100 yds.

A useful handicap and, in spite of it not being truly run, this should prove a solid piece of form, with the sole 3-y-o in the field showing a chunk of improvement to get the better of one that had slipped in the weights, the ultra-consistent third adding further substance to the result.

FRANKLIN D (USA) hadn't been at all disgraced from out of the weights in the Cambridgeshire last time and, as expected, showed improved form back in calmer waters, registering a second success with something to spare, needing all of the longer trip to help overcome a less-than-ideal position; held up, took keen hold, progress out wide from 2f out, stayed on to lead late on, had bit in hand; still lightly raced, he's open to further improvement and looks one to keep on side if kept on the go during the winter.

ANSAAB back up in trip and back on all-weather, not only returned to form but ran right up to his recent best, only beaten by a much less exposed 3-y-o; mid-division, headway from early in straight, every chance inside final 1f, stayed on; worth bearing mind given that he's now 4 lb below his last winning mark.

STARLIT CANTATA again ran well and deserves credit for her consistency; mid-field, travelled smoothly, headway when had to wait for gap early in straight, edged ahead inside final 1f, headed late on, kept on; sure to go well again.

MODERNISM returned to form, albeit rather seeming beaten on merit, but it's worth bearing in mind that he does have easier handicaps than this open to him; led, gradually wound pace up from over 3f out, tackled approaching 2f out, headed entering final 1f, not quicken.

ROYAL WARRANTY wasn't disgraced but never threatened and seemed unsuited by the emphasis on speed back down to this trip for the first time this season; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, outpaced approaching 2f out, made little impression.

ONE PEKAN (IRE) looked a slightly unlucky loser last time but failed to back that effort up here; in touch, not quicken around 2f out, still every chance entering final 1f, no extra final 100 yds.

DERULO (IRE) back on all-weather, wasn't in the same form as last time; raced wide early but soon prominent, challenged approaching 2f out, weakened entering final 1f.

GAELIC SILVER (FR) back on all-weather (is 10 lb higher than on turf) but fared no better than last time; soon steadied, ridden 2f out, left behind entering final 1f.
