A useful mares event, the up-and-coming Antartica de Thaix creating a good impression in seeing off a pair of last-time-out winners; the pace was good.

ANTARTICA DE THAIX (FR) is progressing well and followed up from Bangor in stronger company; chased leader, not always fluent, travelled smoothly, produced to lead between last 2, in command soon after, had bit in hand; will continue to give a good account.

DESERT QUEEN ran respectably after 6 weeks off and time may show she was up against it trying to concede 10 lb to the improving winner; soon well clear, jumped soundly, raced freely, reduced advantage entering back straight, headed between last 2, no extra soon after.

ACTINPIECES back down in trip, wasn't disgraced; mid-division, went handy from circuit out, ridden after 4 out, one paced straight, held when mistake last, found this barely enough of a test.

KASSIS was out of her depth but still didn't run much of a race; not always fluent, never involved.

COLLA PIER (IRE) fared no better after 7 weeks off and seems to have lost her way for the time being; held up, plenty to do circuit out, hit 5 out, eased right off straight, possibly amiss.

KILRONAN HIGH (IRE) was let down by jumping again, though would have run respectably had she completed; mid-division, plenty to do circuit out, headway after 3 out, ridden in fourth when unseated rider next.
