probably didn't need to improve much, if at all, to gain his second win in 3 starts, things falling apart around him here; waited with, slow at first 2 fences, untidy eighteenth, tapped for toe after another slow leap 3 out, closed up travelling best soon after, also clumsy at last 2 obstacles but stayed on to assert run-in, clearly having no problem with the longer trip; he'll be vulnerable once reassessed.
held up, slow 1st, 2nd, untidy 18th, outpaced briefly 3 out, progress before next, led run-in

after 12 weeks off, managed to string together 2 good runs in a row, going with more zest than is often the case as well; made running, regularly out-jumped by Arbeo and briefly joined/headed by that rival on occasions as a result, taken on in earnest early final circuit, saw off Arbeo before 2 out but no extra when tackled by winner after last; history tells us he's unlikely to stay in the groove for long.

boasts a good record at this track and shaped as if in good form for a long way before his stamina gave out (tackling 5f longer trip here); close up, went a bit lazily but jumped well, untidy nineteenth, effort soon after, cracked between 3 out and 2 out, held when making a mistake at the last; temperamental sort but is in a reasonable vein of form at present.
close up, jumped well, shaken up after 19th, weakened between 3 out and 2 out, tiring when mistake last

Weak form, the race falling into the lap of Rocky Bender after the short-priced favourite fell and the 2 remaining runners took each other on from a fair way out, the symbols providing further evidence this isn't a race to dwell on, all those who finished already possessing a squiggle.
