RECEDING WAVES got back on track in no uncertain terms, taking a fair leap forward to gain a third career success, the way he moved through the race proposing better still, a strong finish suggesting he will stay 7f; mid-division, travelled smoothly, headway when switched over 1f out, stayed on to lead final strides.

DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT (IRE) showed improved form on this nursery debut, still displaying a few quirks but in possession of near-useful ability, it to be hoped he continues to go the right way; prominent, not settle fully, ridden when edged left 2f out, led final 1f, headed final strides.

VIBRANT CHORDS looked to have been let in lightly off a mark of 81 (form of maiden win working out well), and whilst he couldn't prove the point straight away it is still early days and he should be afforded another opportunity to do so; close up, led over 1f out, headed final 1f, kept on.

BALTIC RAIDER (IRE) ran to a similar level as when opening his account at Newcastle, the handicapper having taken no chances with his opening mark, but he is crying out for a stiffer test on this evidence, remaining open to improvement over 7f+; held up, driven 2f out, edged left, kept on, never landed a blow.

TAWWAAQ (IRE) had the winner well behind when runner-up at York's Ebor meeting, but couldn't confirm that form here; raced off the pace, headway over 1f out, never a threat.

CELEBRATION raised a further 9 lb, was below form in his bid for the hat-trick, back up in trip, this a better class of nursery than those he has been winning; mid-division, ridden when hung left over 1f out, not quicken.

WAYWARD HOOF back down in trip, went off hard in a first-time visor and finished well held on this switch to nurseries; led, headed over 1f out, faltered.

THEE AND ME (IRE) thoroughly exposed for Bill Turner, offered little starting out for Brian Ellison, his new yard probably going to place him to advantage at some stage, though it is highly unlikely to be in this sort of grade; in rear (change of tactics), ridden over 2f out, never on terms.

TRIBESMAN back on softer ground for this nursery bow, again failed to beat a rival, something clearly amiss with him at present, the memory of his debut win fading fast; mid-division, pushed along halfway, hung left, made no impression and eased.
