is progressing well and followed up from last time from 7 lb higher in the weights, seeing out the extra 1f fine; held up, travelled strongly, led on bridle under 2f out, edged out briefly 1f out, found extra for a couple of smacks of the whip and had a bit more in hand than winning distance suggests; much more competitive handicaps await now and will need to improve again.

hasn't convinced with stamina over 2m on last couple of outings and, back down in trip, he ran his best race yet, seen off only by a lightly-raced improver; in touch, shaken up 3f out, stayed on to lead briefly 1f out, kept on and was clear of the rest; he's likeable and will continue to run well kept to short of 2m.

proved to be a disappointment on the back of a promising reappearance, more than the 2f longer trip to blame (had given the impression previously that this far would suit); prominent, not settle fully, driven 3f out, beaten over 1f out.

These small-field races are often tougher to assess with confidence and only 2 of the 5 have given their running, but for now we're taking a reasonably positive view of that pair, the winner progressive and second likeable/reliable.

MAGIC HURRICANE (IRE) is progressing well and followed up from last time from 7 lb higher in the weights, seeing out the extra 1f fine; held up, travelled strongly, led on bridle under 2f out, edged out briefly 1f out, found extra for a couple of smacks of the whip and had a bit more in hand than winning distance suggests; much more competitive handicaps await now and will need to improve again.

ESTEAMING hasn't convinced with stamina over 2m on last couple of outings and, back down in trip, he ran his best race yet, seen off only by a lightly-raced improver; in touch, shaken up 3f out, stayed on to lead briefly 1f out, kept on and was clear of the rest; he's likeable and will continue to run well kept to short of 2m.

JAZZ MASTER who had blinkers back on, had been giving the impression a return to this far would suit but, like on his previous try at the trip, he failed to see things out ridden from the front, headed under 2f out and soon beaten off

SEA MEETS SKY (FR) proved to be a disappointment on the back of a promising reappearance, more than the 2f longer trip to blame (had given the impression previously that this far would suit); prominent, not settle fully, driven 3f out, beaten over 1f out.

BUCKLAND (IRE) has become disappointing; dwelt, handy, ridden over 3f out, found nothing, eased off; looks one with problems.
