A keenly-contested renewal of the Lennox and it was a well-run race without incident, the placed pair possibly doing a little more than ideal in relation to Dutch Connection, who was given the perfect ride, but he was still well on top and is the most talented of these.

DUTCH CONNECTION is a very smart performer and under optimum conditions he was able to underline the point, better than ever as he landed the biggest win of his career to date, this well-run 7f at a course he handles well seeing him to something like maximum effect, and he was given the perfect ride too; mid-division, tanked along, headway when angled wide to ensure a clear run over 2f out, loomed up approaching final 1f, quickened to lead final 100 yds, impressive; he's sure to go well again providing he's campaigned in the right races under similar conditions, next month's Maurice de Gheest over a slightly shorter distance an ideal Group 1 target providing the ground isn't on the easy side.

HOME OF THE BRAVE (IRE) is having a fine season, not completing the hat-trick back up in grade but running well despite probably not been seen to very best effect with his usual front-running tactics sacrificed; chased leader, took strong hold, went on over 1f out, headed final 100 yds, one paced.

GIFTED MASTER (IRE) was quickly back to form returned to firmer ground, just not in quite the same bracket as the pair that beat him; forced pace, shaken up over 2f out, headed over 1f out, no extra well inside final 1f but just held on for third.

BUCKSTAY (IRE) has done all of his racing and achieved his big ratings in top-end handicaps but with a good pace this wouldn't have felt overly different and he ran with credit without being quite up to the task; dwelt, held up, effort over 2f out, ran on to almost get third but was never really a threat.

MARKAZ (IRE) seemed to relish the drop to 6f and switch to tapeta when winning the Chipchase last month and wasn't in the same form back up in trip/on turf; chased leaders, pushed along 3f out, one paced.

TUPI (IRE) is struggling for form and has something to prove at present; dropped out, labouring over 2f out, made no impression.

BIRCHWOOD (IRE) can have this run overlooked, having little go right in the race; dived left leaving stalls, raced wide off the pace and pulled too hard, no chance over 1f out and was eased off, spared a hard race.

DREAM DUBAI was out of his depth; raced off the pace, never travelling well, beaten when eased over 1f out, made no impression.
