didn't need to improve to go one better than last time, having the run of things too, though he looks as if there's more to come when required; led, shaken up 2f out, jinked right inside final 1f, kept on well final 50 yds; will stay beyond 1½m; remains open to improvement.

upped in trip, ran respectably, just lacking the pace of the winner after travelling the better; tracked pace, travelled well, challenged 1f out, one paced; he almost certainly won't take up his Derby engagement and it may that he will benefited from dropping back, rather than going up in trip.

ran respectably, closely matched with the winner from previous clash, but lacking the same sort of potential and having no real excuse; close up, not quicken 2f out, kept on final 1f.

appeared to run above himself up in grade, though he had form against the winner which suggested he wasn't such a forlorn hope; handy, effort over 2f out, not quicken final 1f; may do better still.

strong in betting, up in grade, merely ran to a similar level as on return, not up to expectations; slowly into stride, waited with, effort over 2f out, plugged on, made no impression; may yet do better.

faced a stiff task in this grade and appeared to better his debut form by some way, though clearly this isn't solid by any means; waited with, effort over 2f out, faded final 1f.

Non Runners: PRINCE GAGARIN (IRE). Race Distance Adjustment: +10 yds

Winning Owner: Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum

Time: 2m 24.36s

Overrounds: Industry SP 114%, Betfair SP 102.2%

The first 2 still hold a Derby entry, but neither is likely to take up the engagement after a somewhat unsatisfactory, tactical affair, the winner getting the best ride in the race, those behind the first 2 rather closer than would have been anticipated in a truly-run race, a low view of the form best taken as a result.

STORM THE STARS (USA) didn't need to improve to go one better than last time, having the run of things too, though he looks as if there's more to come when required; led, shaken up 2f out, jinked right inside final 1f, kept on well final 50 yds; will stay beyond 1½m; remains open to improvement.

MEDRANO ran respectably, closely matched with the winner from previous clash, but lacking the same sort of potential and having no real excuse; close up, not quicken 2f out, kept on final 1f.

GREAT GLEN appeared to run above himself up in grade, though he had form against the winner which suggested he wasn't such a forlorn hope; handy, effort over 2f out, not quicken final 1f; may do better still.
