is improving all the time, even if there was an opportunistic element to this performance as he had the run of things out in front; dictated, travelled well, asserted over 1f out, stayed on, had the run of the race; remains unexposed and is bred to stay middle distances with next year in mind.

showed improved form without necessarily being seen to best effect; in touch, ridden around 2f out, stuck to task, would have benefited from a stronger gallop; will prove suited by at least 1m; remains open to improvement.

wasn't disgraced in this tougher company than when making a winning debut but could only run to a similar level, still learning perhaps, whilst the track and run of the race probably weren't ideal; held up, effort over 2f out, weakened inside final 1f; worth another chance.

had no easy task under a penalty, up 1f in trip too, and was well held; chased leader, edged left around 2f out, weakened.

All 4 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr George Strawbridge

Time: 1m 27.38s

Overrounds: Industry SP 109%, Betfair SP 99.7%

There was always likely to be a tactical element to this with only 4 runners and time may tell that there's little between the first two, Make It Up having the advantage out in front, but both are undoubtedly useful, progressive juveniles.

MAKE IT UP is improving all the time, even if there was an opportunistic element to this performance as he had the run of things out in front; dictated, travelled well, asserted over 1f out, stayed on, had the run of the race; remains unexposed and is bred to stay middle distances with next year in mind.

GOOD CONTACT (USA) showed improved form without necessarily being seen to best effect; in touch, ridden around 2f out, stuck to task, would have benefited from a stronger gallop; will prove suited by at least 1m; remains open to improvement.

JOHNNY BARNES (IRE) wasn't disgraced in this tougher company than when making a winning debut but could only run to a similar level, still learning perhaps, whilst the track and run of the race probably weren't ideal; held up, effort over 2f out, weakened inside final 1f; worth another chance.

STEP TO THE SHEARS had no easy task under a penalty, up 1f in trip too, and was well held; chased leader, edged left around 2f out, weakened.
