Not a strong class 3 mares hurdle, the pair at the head of the weights both beaten some way out and failing to complete, a revived Flute Bowl up at the front from the off and running away with it in the straight.

FLUTE BOWL whose 2014/15 campaign never really took off after slipping up when still in the hunt in last year's renewal of this event, had fallen in the weights and made a winning return from 8-month break; raced wide, disputed lead, went on 3 out, shaken up approaching next, drew clear before last, kept up to work; remains to be seen if able to back this up, the handicapper likely to take a dim view given her wide winning margin.

ACES OVER EIGHTS (IRE) looked on a fair mark making her handicap debut after 7 months off, and ran respectably; raced wide, held up, headway circuit out, second when driven home turn, held when hit last.

JEAN FLEMING (IRE) goes well at this track and wasn't disgraced back down in trip, a likeable type who is yet to finish worse than third in her 10 starts; raced wide in mid-division, ridden early final circuit, outpaced home turn, kept on well run-in; will benefit from a return to around 3m.

ABUNDANTLY raced on the unfavoured inside after 7 months off; disputed lead, headed when driven 3 out, weakened run-in.

AVISPA was making her handicap debut back up in trip in a first-time hood, but continues to disappoint bearing in mind the promise she showed in bumpers early last year; in rear, pushed along after 3 out, stopped quickly.

FAERIE REEL (FR) ran no sort of race back up in trip after 8 months off, and has now failed to complete on 3 of her last 4 starts, not for the first time shaping as if amiss; chased leaders, pushed along 4 out, beaten soon after next; questions to answer now.
