strong in the betting, raised his game again to make it back-to-back Grade 2 wins, taking advantage of a sound piece of placement; held up, jumped well in main, headway from fifth, shaken up briefly 4 out, led 2 out, in command last, ridden out; he'll reportedly go to Punchestown next month for the Champion Chase and rates at least a place contender for that, depending on what else turns up (this form still some way short of putting him in the Un de Sceaux bracket, for instance).

returned to form, avoiding the sort of serious blunder that did for him at Cheltenham, though his jumping under pressure still left a fair bit to be desired, probably preventing from achieving all he might've; held up, in touch seventh, hit 5 out, headway 3 out, mistakes last 2, no match for winner.

wasn't in the same form as last time, unable to dominate like he had then, though Twinlight didn't do much for that race either; pressed leader, disputed lead eighth, shaken up home turn, headed 2 out, not quicken before last, beaten when mistake there.

back on home soil, ran better than at Ascot but was still well below his best recent form; made running, joined eighth, pushed along home turn, weakened after 3 out.

A few disappointments in this Grade 2, though the British-trained winner's effort is among the best seen in the race in recent seasons; the first 2 sat well off a sound early gallop.

TOP GAMBLE (IRE) strong in the betting, raised his game again to make it back-to-back Grade 2 wins, taking advantage of a sound piece of placement; held up, jumped well in main, headway from fifth, shaken up briefly 4 out, led 2 out, in command last, ridden out; he'll reportedly go to Punchestown next month for the Champion Chase and rates at least a place contender for that, depending on what else turns up (this form still some way short of putting him in the Un de Sceaux bracket, for instance).

SIZING GRANITE (IRE) returned to form, avoiding the sort of serious blunder that did for him at Cheltenham, though his jumping under pressure still left a fair bit to be desired, probably preventing from achieving all he might've; held up, in touch seventh, hit 5 out, headway 3 out, mistakes last 2, no match for winner.

TWINLIGHT (FR) ran badly; mid-division, lost place fourth, behind after, might have been amiss.
