upped in trip, improved again to follow up his Phoenix Stakes win in authoritative fashion, a performance which, unsurprisingly, saw him promoted to clear ante-post favourite by most major firms for next year's 2000 Guineas; raced wide, chased leaders, travelled strongly, led on bridle 1f out, quickened clear, impressive; a glance at his pedigree suggests 1m should be within his compass and he remains an excellent prospect.

ran at least as well as when successful in the Futurity, form which had taken a bit of knock in the Moyglare half an hour earlier, a bit too free for his own good in the early stages but ultimately just unlucky to bump into one; close up, not settle fully, challenged under 2f out, not quicken.

finished just over a length further behind Air Force Blue than in the Phoenix, giving the impression that this was too much of a test at this stage of his development; led until 2f out, no extra; may prove best at sprint trips for time being.

Probably not a vintage renewal of Ireland's premier Group 1 for 2-y-o colts, but quite possibly a vintage winner, Air Force Blue landing the odds in the manner of one who is destined for even better things.

AIR FORCE BLUE (USA) upped in trip, improved again to follow up his Phoenix Stakes win in authoritative fashion, a performance which, unsurprisingly, saw him promoted to clear ante-post favourite by most major firms for next year's 2000 Guineas; raced wide, chased leaders, travelled strongly, led on bridle 1f out, quickened clear, impressive; a glance at his pedigree suggests 1m should be within his compass and he remains an excellent prospect.

HERALD THE DAWN (IRE) ran at least as well as when successful in the Futurity, form which had taken a bit of knock in the Moyglare half an hour earlier, a bit too free for his own good in the early stages but ultimately just unlucky to bump into one; close up, not settle fully, challenged under 2f out, not quicken.

BIRCHWOOD (IRE) more exposed than rest, ran creditably upped in grade, had no excuses; tracked pace, edged ahead 2f out, headed 1f out, no extra.

FINAL FRONTIER (IRE) upped in trip, was found out in better company; held up, pushed along 3f out, merely closed up late.
