EL HAYEM (IRE) confirmed the impression created at Newbury on reappearance, clearly ahead of his mark and unlucky not to collect on this occasion; dwelt, recovered to race in mid-field, tanked along, had to wait for gap from 2f out until switched over 1f out, not in the clear until winner had already built up some momentum, kept on well final 1f, already booked for second when squeezed for room close home; remains capable of better when things drop right, and one to be interested in.

ICE SLICE (IRE) who goes well at this track, was strong in the betting after 4 weeks off and ran well, wider than ideal but possibly helped by getting a more patient ride than is often the case; mid-field, raced wide, pushed along 3f out, stayed on straight, never nearer.

FUWAIRT (IRE) after 6 weeks off, was again better than the distance beaten suggests; held up, rapid headway 3-wide to go prominent 3f out, pushed along 2f out, produced to lead over 1f out, headed final 1f, no extra as earlier exertions told; not one to write off, especially if taking a drop in grade (eligible for weaker races than this).

MICHELE STROGOFF without headgear this time, was below form on first outing since leaving Roger Fell after 5 months off; chased leaders, not settle fully, pushed along over 2f out, every chance when switched over 1f out, faded, the outing possibly needed; next run should reveal more.

TRIBAL PATH (IRE) again ran below form, acknlowledging he wasn't seen to best effect; pressed leader, pushed along 3f out, weakened straight, did too much too soon.

LAT HAWILL (IRE) after just 6 days off, shaped better than the distance beaten suggests; slowly into stride, in rear, off the bridle long way out, headway under pressure over 1f out, badly hampered soon after, not recover; overall profile, along with his quirks, mean he's not one to go overboard about, though.

CALDER PRINCE (IRE) better judged on previous form, always likely to be up against it from a wide draw on this occasion; raced wide close up, pushed along over 2f out, faded, did too much too soon; already 4 lb below last winning mark and one to look out for in the coming weeks, especially if an uncontested lead looks on the cards.

HILLBILLY BOY (IRE) shaped as if better for the run after 6 months off; quickly across from wide draw to force pace, shaken up over 2f out, headed over 1f out, no extra, ridden too aggressively; should be closer to form with this under his belt.

GABRIAL'S KAKA (IRE) ran poorly after 6 weeks off; in rear, ridden 3f out, never a threat; on the plus side, he is now down to his last winning mark.

INTRANSIGENT shaped as if amiss, easy to put a line through this run; raced wide, mid-field, driven 3f out, eased off.
