came out on top after 6 months off, taking advantage of a drop in the weights on the one hand (last run in a handicap was a win off 2 lb higher), but also just looked something like as good as ever; prominent, travelled strongly, quickened to lead inside final 1f, ridden out; he boasts an excellent record on all-weather in particular and one to be interested in, including for the AW Sprint Championship on Good Friday (a race he was second in last year), current prices of around 14/1 making plenty of appeal.

ran very well after 6 weeks off, a career-best effort in fact behind a smart, well-handicapped rival; chased leaders, challenged over 1f out, stuck to task but couldn't match winners turn of foot.

ran creditably in first-time eyeshields and blinkers, especially under the circumstances, a small field at 5f hardly ideal; dwelt, held up, keeping on when forced to switch inside final 1f, stayed on; will benefit from return to a return to 6f.

All 6 ran.

Winning Owner: Michael & Heather Yarrow

Time: 58.64s Closing Sectional: (3f): 33.8s (104.1%)

Overrounds: Industry SP 113%, Betfair SP 101.8%

A good-quality sprint handicap even with just 6 runners; Bosham's lead wasn't contested and the first 2 were never far away.

LANCELOT DU LAC (ITY) came out on top after 6 months off, taking advantage of a drop in the weights on the one hand (last run in a handicap was a win off 2 lb higher), but also just looked something like as good as ever; prominent, travelled strongly, quickened to lead inside final 1f, ridden out; he boasts an excellent record on all-weather in particular and one to be interested in, including for the AW Sprint Championship on Good Friday (a race he was second in last year), current prices of around 14/1 making plenty of appeal.

DOCTOR SARDONICUS ran very well after 6 weeks off, a career-best effort in fact behind a smart, well-handicapped rival; chased leaders, challenged over 1f out, stuck to task but couldn't match winners turn of foot.

UPAVON ran creditably in first-time eyeshields and blinkers, especially under the circumstances, a small field at 5f hardly ideal; dwelt, held up, keeping on when forced to switch inside final 1f, stayed on; will benefit from return to a return to 6f.

BOSHAM wasn't disgraced but doesn't seem in top form like he was last winter; led, tackled over 1f out, headed inside final 1f, no extra.

DISTANT PAST wasn't in the same form as last time but different tactics possibly weren't ideal (made all at Newcastle); raced wide, mid-division, driven over 1f out, one paced.

TOP BOY is operating below best at present; held up, not settle fully, driven over 1f out, made no impression.
