clearly derived plenty of benefit for recent reappearance, matching the smart form she showed in South Africa, but she was seen to good effect and only scrambled home, so this is probably her limit at 7f, any further progress likely to come once returned to sprinting; dictated, quickened around 2f out, tackled over 1f out, had nothing to spare.

has really thrived since joining this yard and this rates as another step forward, smart now, and just the type who'll continue to give a good account this winter, at either 7f or 1m; chased leader, effort 2f out, every chance soon after, kept on.

continues in good form, but the way things panned out was just the same old story; held up, shaken up entering straight, ran on late, left poorly placed; should continue to give a good account, but is a tricky horse to win with.

was below form after 5 weeks off, this all a bit laboured; mid-field, off the bridle before most, one paced; may benefit from a return to 1m and form of recent second has worked out well enough, so he'll probably bounce back soon.

was well suited by the conditions of the race so this has to go down as a disappointing effort; mid-division, shaken up entering straight, found less than looked likely; has form over further, but best runs on all-weather have come at 6f.

faced a tall order on British debut and actually ran about as well as could be expected; raced wide, held up, pushed along over 2f out, never on terms; on the downside, he looked half-hearted under pressure.

A couple of the likelier sorts failed to fire, but it still took a smart effort from Cold As Ice to justify favouritism, acknowledging he was seen to good effect in a race where it paid to be handy.
