This looked set to be an interesting stayers handicap beforehand, and the first 3 home all posted fairly useful efforts, but the well-backed winner was allowed a soft lead and controlled the race from some way out, nothing able to land a glove on him in the straight.

ADDICTED TO YOU (IRE) strong in the betting, didn't need to improve to go one better than at Hamilton 8 days earlier, clearly well placed, already due to go up 3 lb at the weekend, also helped by being allowed a largely uncontested lead; led after 1f, kicked on entering straight, won readily; just the type his handler excels with and will continue to give a good account.

PROJECT BLUEBOOK (FR) who had won a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle when last seen 12 weeks earlier, matched previous form in this sphere whilst shaping as if the run would bring him on, plenty of options going forward, the Galway Hurdle in 3 weeks likely to come under consideration; raced along inside, chased leaders, outpaced end of back straight, kept on well to take second final 1f, no impression on winner.

TENZING NORGAY in a change of headgear and upped further in trip, shaped as if needing the run after 10 months off; waited with, took keen hold, headway under pressure from home turn, lost second inside final 1f; remains capable of better at this sort of trip.

GENERAL ALLENBY upped in trip, had no obvious chance from 27 lb out of the handicap, seemingly flattered; raced wide in mid-division, lost place over 5f out, merely plugged on.

HURRICANE HOLLOW upped in trip, ran one of his lesser races; led early, remained prominent until 2f out, faded.

ALMOST GEMINI (IRE) who had been hurdling without making much impact since last seen on the Flat, took little interest, always behind.
