Flat Trainer: Roger Varian (Click trainer's name to view a full list of entries)
As the graph below demonstrates, Roger Varian's string tends to enjoy a particularly fruitful period during the summer months, and that is again proving to be the case this term, with 82% of his string running to form of late.

As you would expect, Varian has a host of interesting entries over the new few days, beginning with Motawaj, who is one of three entries in a three-year-old handicap at Kempton on Wednesday. Having been gelded since last seen, he looked rusty on reapperance at Nottingham last month, but he showed plenty to work on, finishing third, and looks worthy of another chance to prove he's on a good mark with more improvement to come yet. Also entered on the card is Revolutionise, who was suited by the emphasis on stamina when getting off the mark over six furlongs at Windsor last month. Admittedly, he didn't have too much to spare at the line, but is lightly raced, and a 5 lb rise in the weights may not prove beyond him. Finally, any market support for Charming Spirit in the fillies' novice on the card would be interesting. She makes plenty of appeal on paper (sister to smart 1m winner Digital Age) and could be one to keep an eye on in the paddock. Later in the week, Mutamasik is entered at Carlisle on Thursday. He got off the mark in straightforward fashion at Wolverhampton last time and will have leading claims of following up if taking his chance.
Jumps Trainer: David Pipe
Like most National Hunt yards, it is simply a case of ticking over until the autumn for the David Pipe team, though his string have a good record on firmer ground over the last five seasons, as the graph below shows.

With that in mind, it looks worth keeping an eye on several of Pipe's entries over the coming days, beginning with Skinflint, who is entered in a handicap chase at Worcester on Monday, and a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on Tuesday. He's winless in nine starts so far, but has run well in both of his starts this term, finshing second on his chasing debut at Newton Abbot last month, before occupying the same placing at Worcester last time out. He jumped okay on his first try over the big obstacles, and is an interesting proposition off his current mark. Also entered at Uttoxeter on Tuesday is Ourmullon. He's been in good form over hurdles so far this year, and arrives here on the back of a respectable run on the Flat at Bath last time. He is one to consider, as is Mrs Miggins, who has two entries on the same card. She showed improved form to open her account after a wind operation at Uttoxeter last month and will have strong claims of following up under a 7 lb penalty.
Under The Radar: Ed Vaughan
After having a tricky time of things during the spring months, Ed Vaughan is flying at the moment, with 80% of his string running to form - as outlined by the graph below.
Vaughan has several interesting entries next week, including Trailboss, who has an entry in a staying handicap at Kempton on Wednesday evening. He took advantage of the switch to handicap company to get off the mark with something in hand at Doncaster last time, and he will have leading claims of following up under a 5 lb penalty, with the step up to two miles sure to suit (finished second in a bumper over this trip at Fakenham in February). Another interesting potential runner is Attorney General, who could run at Lingfield on Wednesday or at Doncaster a day later. He left his debut form well behind when finishing second at Ripon last time out, and should make a bold bid here now returned to seven furlongs with more improvement likely. Colonelle was below form at Wolverhampton last time out, but that run qualified her for a mark and she will be one to keep an eye on wherever she takes her chance - with three entries to choose from. Finally, any market support for Burniston Rocks at Lingfield on Wednesday would be interesting.
