Flat trainer: Marco Botti (Run To Form percentage – 77%)
Marco Botti has his string in excellent form and he has sent out three winners from his past five runners. In truth, his team have been going well for a while now, and at one stage last month he had 15 runners in a row run to form.
Kyllachy Gala may be a six-year-old who has had plenty of racing, but he could be one to follow based on how readily he took advantage of a much-reduced mark at Kempton last week. Given he won off a 17lb higher mark last year he will remain of interest on the back of a cosy success, particularly as he proved his stamina for a mile and a half.
Sweet Celebration also looks one to note in the short term following her wide-margin win over a mile and a half at Kempton. She found plenty under pressure to draw eight lengths clear and looks sure to stay further.
Looking ahead, Guroor, a five-length winner on her last start at Wolverhampton last month, is entered at Kempton on Monday and she appears to still be on a fair mark despite going up 7lb. Silver Samurai struck on the same day as Guroor, impressing with how he quickened clear, and he looks the type to improve further.
Willkommen will be of obvious interest if taking up an engagement over a mile and three quarters at Wolverhampton on Wednesday. He’s not been seen since winning at the course in May but won that in the style of a horse who should benefit from a step up in trip, while it’s obviously a positive he makes his return with the yard in such good form.
Jumps trainer: Rebecca Curtis (RTF 91%)
Rebecca Curtis had a few horses put in disappointing efforts at Stratford on Thursday, including Lisnagar Oscar, who failed to fire behind the impressive Black Op.
However, her other 13 runners in October all ran to form, with five of those winning at a strike-rate of 38%, and she has already registered more winners this season than she managed in either of the past two campaigns.
You would assume Lisnagar Oscar is an unlikely runner at Exeter on Tuesday on the back of such a tame effort last week, but Special Princess (entered at Hereford on Monday) and Just A Thought (Chepstow on Wednesday) are strong contenders.
Special Princess was well backed and value for more than the winning margin when making a winning start for the yard at Ffos Las. That was not a strong race but she could have more to offer for this stable. Just A Thought shaped well when finishing fourth at Chepstow on her return from an 18-month absence and should be suited by the step up in trip.
Under the radar: Henry Daly (RTF 75%)
Henry Daly had five winners in October and the vast majority of his representatives ran to form, so it could be a good time for stable star Atlanta Ablaze to make her reappearance at Market Rasen on Thursday.
She showed useful form last season, winning on four occasions, including in listed company at Warwick and Wincanton, and shaped well in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, falling two out when looking as if she was set for third. She failed to fire on her final start at Perth but could be a different proposition having been freshened up.
Atlanta Ablaze could be joined at Market Rasen on Thursday by Laxey (also entered at Exeter on Tuesday) and he is a promising type open to improvement. He showed improved form when finishing runner-up at Warwick on his final start of last season, a change to more positive tactics showing him to better effect. He looks set to come into his own over fences but can make an impact over hurdles first.
It’s Probably Me hails from a good jumping family and made a winning start at Southwell in April, landing a bumper despite having little strength behind her in the market. She built on that when beaten only by a decent prospect at Bangor and could be one to note if making her hurdling debut at Newbury on Thursday.
