Godolphin Mile - 12:20 GMT
MARKING is clearly very talented, with Breeders' Cup hero Runhappy the only horse to beat him in the US, and it's easy to forget he only made his debut six months ago. He's bred to stay a mile and the switch to this race looks the right decision. Last year's runner-up Sloane Avenue and recent handicap-scorer Maftool rate the biggest dangers.
Dubai Gold Cup - 12:55 GMT
Plenty revolves around VAZIRABAD, who was highly progressive last term, culminating in his Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak win. He doesn't have the benefit of a prep and isn't totally straightforward (carries head awkwardly), though ground is no issue, receives a handy weight-for-age allowance and there's plenty of pace on. Manatee and Star Empire are most likely to pick up the pieces if he disappoints.
UAE Derby - 13:35 GMT
The unbeaten POLAR RIVER had been electric on her first 3 starts, and though that air of invincibility took a knock when she was an unimpressive winner of the UAE Oaks over this trip last time, is still hard to oppose. Vale Dori was flattered by her proximity that day, but looks one of the likelier challengers again, while Lani seems the pick of the Japanese trio.
Al Quoz Sprint - 14:10 GMT
NOT LISTENIN'TOME has taken his form to new levels in Hong Kong of late, particularly impressing when tackling the straight five-furlong track at Sha Tin. He's a big player with Ryan Moore booked, along with last year's one-two Sole Power and Peniaphobia. Front runner Ertijaal has looked superb over five furlongs this Carnival and is another to put right into the mix, for all there's plenty of competition for the lead.
Golden Shaheen - 14:45 GMT
X Y JET has won his last five starts now in the US, showing truly blistering dash in the process. He's well drawn to attack on this speed-orientated track and should take plenty of pegging back. The veteran Reynaldothewizard won this in 2013 and the likely strong pace will suit him down to the ground. Impressive Super Saturday scorer Muarrab and last year's second Super Jockey are also considered.
Dubai Turf - 15:45 GMT
TRYSTER has produced his signature turn of foot to win both his starts this Carnival, including the Group 1 Jebel Hatta three weeks ago, and looks the one to beat if getting the gaps from stall two. Intilaaq has big targets this year and rates the obvious dangers on form, though the filly Very Special and Japanese raider Real Steel are also considered.
Dubai Sheema Classic - 16:20 GMT
DURAMENTE won two legs of the Japanese Triple Crown last year, and though injury curtailed a potential Arc bid, he returned to win a very competitive Group 2 last month. Japanese runners have a good record at this meeting and it's unlikely we've seen the best of him. Postponed was very impressive in the trial and looks the main threat, while Highland Reel has to come into the reckoning as well.
Dubai World Cup - 17:00 GMT
A strong renewal of the world's richest race. FROSTED spent the majority of last year in the shadow of American Pharoah, but can make into a better four-year-old and impressed when winning here last month. The US challenge is strong, boosted by California Chrome, who bids to go one better than 12 months ago and has had a good prep. Mubtaahij isn't dismissed lightly at bigger odds.
